Poor levels of trust in media and politicians fuels vaccine uncertainty

As the latest outbreak of COVID-19 threatens to extend lockdowns in Victoria and New South Wales, we find evidence of a growing gap in public trust in COVID-19 information that may slow our post-COVID recovery.

The latest tracking data from a nation-wide study with YouGov of more than 1000 Australians shows Australians’ overall trust in our political leaders and the mainstream media has dropped since the pandemic began, and is among the reasons for vaccine hesitancy.
